The Lions appear to want or need more talent in their wide receiver room. A trade is likely the best option to get the player they are most interested in. The Lions have the 7th waiver priority rights, so using this method to obtain a player is more risky, yet they can also hope that such an opportunity might come about.
Denver would be on my radar with several possible players of interest and not likely to make their 53-man roster. New Orleans and Washington also have some interesting candidates.
Players I've zeroed in on include Trinity Benson, KJ Hamler, LilJordan Humphries, and Antonio Gandy-Golden, not necessarily in any order other than by team.
The top internal competitors for the roster include:
Tyrell Williams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Khalid Raymond, Quintez Cephus, and Tom Kennedy
I would expect the team to carry five or six receivers so an addition definitely heats-up competition. Of course, they could be inclined to believe that Tom Kennedy could get through the waiver process and remain on their practice squad.
