Wednesday open thread: Has training camp changed your predictions for the 2021 Detroit Lions?

There have been lots of pleasant surprises out of Allen Park thus far.

I’m trying not to drink the kool-aid, I really am.

With that being said, things are looking good out of Allen Park thus far in training camp. In particular, the defense has dominated and edge rushers are looking more productive than anticipated. Players who regressed in 2020, like Tracy Walker and Jeff Okudah, look to have bounced back.

Question of the day: Has training camp changed your predictions so far for the 2021 Detroit Lions?

My answer: I think so.

I may be reading into it too much, but I am very much on the pessimistic end of the spectrum here. To see any life out of the defense is very reassuring, especially after all offseason I harped about how I won’t believe the hype till I see it.

I have to remember that we’ve only had one day in pads, so I can’t weigh it too much, but at this point I am comfortable raising my win total ceiling from about four games to maybe six or so. Who knows, maybe we’re in for more surprises. In the meantime, I should probably wait to see live game action before drinking any more kool aid.
