Ask POD: Detroit Lions post 53-man roster mailbag submissions

The last big hurdle between the offseason and the regular season has been jumped. The Detroit Lions have set their 53-man roster, they’ve made their initial practice squad signings, and now it’s just looking forward to Week 1 of the season against the San Francisco 49ers.

With the NFL offseason schedule altered this year, we’ve got a little extra time between roster cuts and Week 1. And although we’re just a week away from the Thursday night season opener between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we’ve got a little more time than that before Ford Field fills to the brim with excited Lions fans.

So let’s take the opportunity to answer some of your questions. Maybe you’ve got lingering questions about the roster. Maybe you’re already looking forward to next Sunday’s matchup. Maybe you’re already looking forward to the 2022 draft. Okay, if you’re in that last group, you may get largely ignored.
