The Detroit Lions are entering Monday Night Football as 11.5-point underdogs. A loss is all but guaranteed—according to most experts. The Green Bay Packers may be coming off one of the most embarrassing games in the franchise’s recent history, but they’re still considered heavy favorites not only for this game, but to win another NFC North crown.
But that’s why they play the game.
In reality, this is far from a perfect Packers team. There are serious concerns on the defense, and people are already questioning the hiring of defensive coordinator Joe Barry. The Lions could very well get their running game going on Monday night, which could keep this game close and Aaron Rodgers on the sidelines.
Speaking of Rodgers, he’s looking to recover from one of the worst games in his illustrious career. It’s hard to imagine Rodgers performing like that again—especially when you consider Detroit’s woeful secondary—but, hey, you never know.
Kickoff is around 8:15 (more info on how to watch here). Feel free to chat in the comment section below from pre-game to the end of the first half. We’ll have a separate thread for the second half.
