It’s unclear how serious Jackson’s injury is.

Thursday morning, news broke that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was not present during the team’s practice. That led to speculation that Jackson may be suffering from a lingering hip injury that occured when the Ravens quarterback flipped into the end zone in celebration against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. Jackson did admit on Wednesday his hip was a still a little sore.

“I’m kind of sore,” Jackson said Wednesday per ESPN. “I didn’t want to tell Coach because Coach would probably [have] said something to me about flipping next time. I don’t know; I’d probably do it again though.”

However, that is not what kept Jackson out of Thursday’s practice. As first reported by Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, Jackson is dealing with a stomach bug. And per Zrebiec, the Ravens quarterback “should be fine” to play this Sunday against the Detroit Lions. It is not a COVID-19 related illness.

Zrebiec’s report is backed up by the Ravens’ injury report, which indeed lists Jackson with an illness. You can see the full report below:
