Last week both the Detroit Lions and Baltimore Ravens played some quality defense, mostly limiting fantasy production (unless you own Justin Tucker...). As expected, only D’Andre Swift was a big scorer, and his role is completely locked in at this point, even with Jamaal Williams having a place in the offense as well.
This weekend’s trip to Chicago could also result in a lower-scoring affair, mainly because of struggles by both offenses. No matter who is under center for the Bears, it seems like the output will be modest, even with the Lions secondary issues. Reminder, the below scoring includes 6pt TDs and 0.5 PPR:
- Jared Goff (17.4 pts): 266 pass yd, 1.4 TD, 0.8 Int
- T.J. Hockenson (10.5 pts): 5.0 rec, 56 rec yd, 0.4 TD
- David Montgomery (14.2 pts): 70 rush yd, 2.6 rec, 23 rec yd, 0.6 TD
- Allen Robinson (12.1 pts): 5.5 rec, 70 rec yd, 0.4 TD
Today’s Question of the Day is:
Which Lions-Bears player will outperform their projections?
My answer: It has been a miserable start to the season for Allen Robinson, but he is just too good of a player for this trend to continue. After back-to-back weeks with only two receptions, this could be the perfect chance to get him going. Robinson has infamously dealt with some of the worst quarterbacks in the league during his career; by the end of the season his numbers will look totally fine.
Double-digits is never a gimmie for tight ends, but T.J. Hockenson did end up a non-factor last week after a pair of really good games to start the year. He is still near the top of the position overall, but the Lions will need to get him more looks as the passing game continues to lack many viable options.
Your turn.
