On Tuesday, Amazon Prime dropped a full-length documentary about Detroit Lions legendary running back Barry Sanders. Entitled “Bye Bye Barry,” the documentary surrounds Sanders’ entire career, but most notably, his curious and sudden retirement just before the start of training camp in 1999.
While the topic has been covered for literally two decades now, the documentary promises to answer questions that remain a mystery about Sanders’ retirement.
There’s a good chance if you’re a die-hard Lions fan, you’ve already watched it. But in case you haven’t, we’re having a virtual watch party this Sunday morning (November 26) at 10 a.m. ET. Here’s what you need to know:
Because this is a property owned by Amazon Prime, we are allowed to stream it on our Twitch channel (Twitch is owned by Amazon). But in order to watch along with us, you need to both have an Amazon Prime membership and a free Twitch account. If you do have both things, you need to link the accounts together. There’s a tutorial on how to link your Amazon Prime and Twitch accounts here.
Once you have done that, all you need to do is head to our Twitch account at 10 a.m. ET (twitch.tv/prideofdetroit) and wait for the movie to begin. It’s a unique way to watch the movie, listen to my limited commentary, and share your live thoughts in our chat.
