‘Sunday Night Football’ open thread: Eagles at Cowboys

It’s a battle of the best on “Sunday Night Football.”

The Dallas Cowboys play host to the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles Sunday evening. Not only are the Cowboys competing with the Eagles for the top spot in the NFC East, but the NFC itself. A game like tonight’s could prove pivotal down the stretch for the 9-3 Cowboys and 10-2 Eagles, with the division loser having to traverse the gauntlet that is a Wild Card seed.

The Cowboys have scored a league-best 388 points, including topping the 40-point mark in three of their last four games (the fourth of which was a 33-10 drubbing of the Carolina Panthers). This week’s opponent will be a much tougher task, however. Philadelphia defeated Dallas back in Week 9 in a close battle, 28-23.

The Eagles are the current top team in the NFL standings, but a loss last week to the San Francisco 49ers was the biggest speedbump for them. Not only did they lose to San Francisco, but they were walloped 42-19. With both the Cowboys and 49ers threatening for the top seed in the NFC, a win tonight would do wonders to prove they are the team to beat going forward.

In a tilt of two of the NFL’s best, which team will come out on top?

Here’s how to watch tonight’s game:
