Lions Week 15 injury report: Taylor Decker returns to practice on Wednesday

Checking in on the Detroit Lions' Week 15 injury report, as they prepare to take on the Denver Broncos.

The Detroit Lions (9-4) and Denver Broncos (7-6) will face off in Week 15, and because the game is scheduled for earlier in the week (Saturday night), the Lions held a walkthrough practice on Tuesday but were back to practicing in full on Wednesday.

NOTE: Any changes from yesterday’s injury report will be bolded.

No practice on Wednesday

  • None

The Lions were fortunate to have all 53 players on the active roster in attendance and practicing on Wednesday.

Limited practice

  • WR Josh Reynolds (back) — NEW INJURY
  • LT Taylor Decker (back) — Upgraded after an estimated no practice on Tuesday
  • C Frank Ragnow (toe/back/knee)
  • DT Benito Jones (neck)

Reynolds popped up on the report Wednesday with a new back injury. Midweek injuries can be tough, particularly on a short week, but we’ll see what his status is after Thursday’s practice, the final of the week. If he can’t go, it could be an increased opportunity for Jameson Williams and/or Donovan Peoples-Jones.

Decker was on the field practicing on Wednesday after coaches estimated he would not have been able to do so on Tuesday. This is a very good sign, as the Lions' preferred offensive tackle replacement, Matt Nelson, remains on injured reserve. If Decker is unable to play, the Lions would likely turn to Dan Skipper or rookie Colby Sorsdal.

Ragnow (wearing a brace on his knee) also officially joined Decker on the practice field, after missing all of last week’s practices. Ragnow was estimated to have been able to practice on Tuesday, which is an encouraging sign the Lions may be able to get their starting offensive line back together.

Jones showed up on the injury report on Tuesday with a new injury and was estimated to have been limited. While injured, he was indeed able to practice which is a good sign for a defensive tackle group that lost Alim McNeill to injured reserve last week and Quinton Bohanna to the Titans, as they poached him off the practice squad.

Full practice

  • QB Hendon Hooker (ACL) evaluation clock: 6 days remaining

Hooker continues to stack full practices as he appears close to returning from his ACL injury. The Lions now have less than a week to decide if they want to place him on the active roster or keep him on the NFI list, thus ending his rookie season.

Broncos injury report

Here’s a look at the Broncos' Wednesday injury report (starters bolded):

No practice:

  • LB Nik Bonitto (knee)
  • S P.J. Locke (neck)
  • RB Samaje Perine (knee) — Downgraded after full practice on Tuesday

  • LB Jonathan Cooper (ankle)

Full practice:

  • G Quinn Meinerz (illness)
  • TE Greg Dulcich (hamstring, on IR) — started evaluation clock on Wednesday
