The NFL opens Week 15 with a “Thursday Night Football” matchup between AFC West rivals Los Angeles Chargers and Las Vegas Raiders, who both hold a 5-8 record entering this game.

The Chargers and Raiders have faced off 128 times in their teams' histories, with Los Angeles holding a 67-58-2 regular season advantage, while Las Vegas is 1-0 in the postseason. Fun fact, the home team has won this matchup in each of the last five contests, with LA winning most recently in early October.

What looked like a potentially interesting matchup when the schedule was made last April has turned into yet another Thursday night game featuring backup quarterbacks.

The Chargers lost Justin Herbert for the season last week, after breaking a finger on his throwing hand, and will turn to Easton Stick to carry the load. Filling in against the Broncos in Week 14, Stick went 13 of 24 for 179 passing yards and a QB rating of 78.3 in just over a half of play. He’ll make his first career start in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, the Raiders benched Jimmy Garoppolo after his disastrous performance against the Detroit Lions (the Raiders also fired coach Josh McDaniels and more following that game) in Week 8. They had also started veteran Brian Hoyer earlier in the season, but the organizational overhaul prompted the Raiders to turn to their third option at quarterback, rookie Aidan O’Connell. Over the last six games, O’Connell has completed 134 of 210 passes for 1365 yards, four touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

Last week, the Raiders offense was shut out by the Vikings, while the Chargers only managed seven points against the Broncos. Enjoy!

The folks over at DraftKings Sportsbook are favoring the Raiders by a field goal in this matchup but the Pride of Detroit staff is split both on the moneyline and against the spread.
