First off, thank you Cincinnati Bengals. With their win over the Minnesota Vikings, the Detroit Lions’ lead in the division is back up to 2.5 games. All the Lions need to do now to clinch the division is find two more wins on the schedule. Doesn’t even matter which ones.
That could start tonight against the Denver Broncos. The conditions are good for the Lions. It’s a primetime game at home, and the Lions are coming off a tough divisional loss. Since Detroit went on their winning streak last year, they have not lost back-to-back games. Dan Campbell has done a pretty good of getting this team to properly rebound.
That said, the Broncos are no easy out. They’ve gone streaking, winning six of their last seven games. That comeback has been led by a complete defensive turnaround. Once one of the worst defenses in the league, the Broncos are now acting like one of the best. Most notably, they’ve forced more turnovers than anyone this year, and that could be trouble for a Lions team who has struggled recently taking care of the ball.
Can the Lions buck that trend and inch their way to the precipice of a division title?

Until then, let’s go Lions!
