Detroit Lions Week 13 inactives list: Julian Okwara, Isaiah Buggs OUT

The Detroit Lions have announced their Week 13 inactives ahead of their game against the New Orleans Saints.

The Detroit Lions have declared their inactives ahead of the Week 13 matchup with the New Orleans Saints, and once again, they are relatively healthy for this game.

The Lions entered Week 13 with a full 53-man roster and made two roster elevations—EDGE Bruce Irvin and NT Quinton Bohanna—which brings Detroit’s game-day roster total up to 55 players.

Because the Lions have eight offensive linemen active for Sunday’s game, they are eligible to expand their game-day roster from 47 to 48 players. Therefore, with 55 players on the game-day roster and 48 eligible to play, the Lions need to declare seven players inactive for today’s matchup.

Lions inactives:

  • LB Alex Anzalone (hand) — Ruled out on Saturday
  • EDGE Julian Okwara
  • DT Isaiah Buggs
  • DT Levi Onwuzurike
  • DT Brodric Martin
  • WR Antoine Green
  • CB Steven Gilmore

Anzalone had been dealing with a hand injury all week and was unable to practice. He was downgraded to “out” on Saturday and is not traveling with the Lions to New Orleans, though that is likely less injury-related, and more due to the fact that his wife Lindsey just recently delivered the couple’s second child.

Okwara, Buggs and Onwuzurike are healthy scratches, and are likely sitting as a direct result of the Lions elevating Irvin and Bohanna. The Lions appear to be exploring their depth options on defense, and with Bohanna using his third and final elevation this week, it’s possible that there may be some roster moves coming soon.

For the third week in a row, a very healthy Lions roster squeezes out rookies Martin, Green, and Gilmore.
