The last four weeks have been a mixed bag for the Detroit Lions, but good teams find a way to win, and that has been the case in three of those tight contests. One of those was a Week 11 comeback win against the Chicago Bears that saved a near disaster, and now Detroit travels to Soldier Field for an interesting rematch.
A month ago, the Lions offense did not have its best showing, starting with an uncharacteristically sloppy game from Jared Goff. The Lions quarterback has come down to Earth a bit, right as the fantasy football season enters crunch time. With many managers on the cusps of the playoffs, the pressure is on to make the right calls.
Today’s Question of the Day is:
What Lions-Bears start/sit decisions are you making?
My answer: It pains me to say it, but I would look to move off Goff if possible this week. To me, there is just too much potential for a modest day, even if it is nothing disastrous. I do like Jahmyr Gibbs, though, and I wonder if the Lions look to him to generate a lot of the productivity and explosiveness. David Montgomery is likely touchdown dependent, so I see Gibbs as the back most likely to get to the RB1 range.
The Chicago plays are obvious again, with only Justin Fields and DJ Moore inspiring much confidence. Both were top 10 at their position their last time against Detroit, and I think they have a good shot at repeating again. Farther down your roster, Cole Kmet is a reasonable dart throw, but I am not trusting any Bears running back or other receiver with so much at stake.
