There weren’t many changes from Wednesday's injury report, with the one big exception being that EDGE Bruce Irvin (ankle) returned to practice. Irvin won’t show up on today’s injury report because he is technically still on the practice squad, meaning the Lions are not required to update his status.
NOTE: Any changes from yesterday’s injury report will be bolded.
No practice on Thursday
- C Frank Ragnow (toe/back/knee)
While the Lions feel like they are in a better spot than originally anticipated regarding Ragnow’s injury, he was still unable to practice on Thursday and seems likely to miss this weekend’s game against the Bears.
Look for Graham Glasgow to shift to center, leaving Colby Sorsdal, Kayode Awosika, and Dan Skipper in competition to start at right guard. Last week, it was Sorsdal who stepped into the role.
- LB Malcolm Rodriguez (ankle)
Rodriguez played on offense, defense, and special teams in Week 13, but it’s not exactly clear when he was injured. The fact that he is practicing this week is a good sign that he’ll have a chance to play in Chicago, but he’ll need to continue his forward progress through Friday’s practice as well.
- QB Hendon Hooker (ACL) evaluation clock: 13 days remaining
- LB Alex Anzalone (hand)
Hooker continues to stack developmental days but a decision on his being activated to the 53-man roster is still a ways away.
Anzalone injured his thumb on Thanksgiving, noting it kept sliding in and out of place, and he missed last week’s game as a result. After having a screw inserted into his thumb for stability, Anzalone returned to practice this week with his left hand wrapped for protection. While there is still a chance he could miss this game, stacking two full practices is a very good sign he may be available.
