Jared Goff named the Lions’ most underrated player by PFF

Some of you hate PFF but it is the premier authority for advanced stats and more. The article Jared Goff named the Lions’ most underrated player by PFF is proof that they can say something nice about Goff.

While Goff might never reach the elite level of play we saw early in his career, the former first-overall pick was plenty serviceable for the Lions last season. Goff ranked 17th out of 30 QBs who had at least 300 pass attempts with a 71.2 passing grade, he was fifth among the group with a 76.2 adjusted completion percentage and he led the Lions offense to 253 first downs picked up through the air, the ninth most among QBs.

I'm rooting for the Lions to finally meet expectations, the attention is massive and so is the pressure. This is one of the most talented teams since the vastly underappreciated 2014 Lions team and this team is better. This team is built to surround Goff with playmakers like Pene Sewell, St Brown, Gibbs, LaPorta, Jameson. These guys are stars or at least future stars. This should be a killer offense. I said this draft was special to Holmes because he got to pick his guys, he picked playmakers.

Guys like Broderic will surprise and Green picked in the 7th round will make the roster and play a role in any success. It should be a fun year.
