Huh? I remember the great 2019 season Galloday had with the Lions, but I also remember the recurring hamstring issues that kept him from playing regularly thereafter. The Giants will be eating $15M in dead cap money to release him, which doesn't seem like a glowing endorsement of his value. Could he still prove to have something left in the tank?
Detroit obviously wishes the gambling issue hadn't arisen to rob them of having Jameson Williams available the first 6 games. Quintez Cephus and Stanley Berrymore are also gone. In their stead though the Lions have Marvin Jones, Jr., Josh Reynolds, Amon-Ra St Brown, Kalif Raymond, Trinity Benson, Antoine Green, Tom Kennedy, Keytaon Thompson, Maurice Alexander, Chase Cota, Shane Zylstra, and Dylan Drummond vying for roster spots. Is there really a need to add Galloday? Or, put another way is he likely better than what the team already has?
I suppose signing him to a very low salary with incentives that is not guaranteed might be a possibility.
