I was trying to project how the final 53 man roster would look and started to wonder how the make-up of the team would look, in terms of how many rookies. I came up with a bit of a surprise, too.

I think it's possible we see a huge influx of rookies on this year's team. Last year I counted 8 (Williams, Mitchell, Hutchinson, Houston, Paschal, Rodriguez, Joseph, and Lucas). The year before 8 (Sewell, St Brown, McNeill, Onwuzurike, Barnes, Jacobs, and Melifonwu). This year I think as many as 12 could make the team:

QB Hooker - it's possible he's put on the PUP / IR list so we don't have to count him.

RB Gibbs and Ibrahim - I think both could make the squad.

FB no one

TE La Porta - he might prove to be the starter.

WR Green - I think he has a chance, but we will have to wait and see.

OL Sorsdal, Galvin, and Swoboda - I just have this feeling that they might prove to be keepers for depth and development, unless it is feasible to keep a couple of them stashed away on the practice squad.

DL Martin - Seems like he will vie for playing time out of the gate.

LB Campbell - I think he'll be the lone rookie on this squad, but expect Darkangelo to make the practice squad.

CB Thomas - He just looks special and could prove to be to risk losing.

S Branch - No doubt, right?

Perhaps it gets whittled down, but I think it's possible we could see 12 rookies on this year's squad! This team seems to just keeping younger and younger.
