I was cleaning up old bookmarks last night, and I came across this webpage that I bookmarked shortly after the Goff/Stafford trade was announced. It is from TheRamsWire, which is the USA Today Rams' site.
LINK *** The 10 best moments of Jared Goff's career with the Rams ***
In his five years with the Rams, Goff had 18,171 yards, 107 touchdowns and 55 interceptions, ranking among the franchise’s passing leaders in a number of categories. It was a half-decade of several memorable moments, too, including playoff wins over the Cowboys, Saints and Seahawks, as well as a Super Bowl appearance.
There is a lot of detail and video for each of the 10 instances where Goff played excellently in LA.
- First career win vs. Colts
- Shootout with 49ers in 2017
- Four-TD game vs. Giants
- NFC West-clinching win vs. Titans in 2017
- Career-high completion rate vs. Chargers
- Perfect passer rating vs. Vikings
- Historic duel with Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs
- Game-sealing run vs. Cowboys in playoffs
- NFC championship win vs. Saints
- Leading Rams to win vs. Seahawks with broken thumb
I think those 10 situations make a great case for the quality of QB that Goff was before he arrived in Detroit. And he's still not even 30 years old, coming off his 3rd Pro Bowl season.
I believe that we got an excellent QB in the trade, as well as the picks that has allowed Brad Holmes to rebuild this franchise very quickly.
