The Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams face off on Sunday night in the biggest game this Lions franchise has seen in at least 30 years. Not only is it a home playoff game, but this team looks dangerous right now, and with the Dallas Cowboys struggling in the early game, there’s a pretty good chance the Lions could have a second home playoff game next week.

But first things first. Matthew Stafford and the Rams stand in the way, and they will not be a pushover by any means. The Rams have won seven of their last eight games, and Stafford has that offense rolling right now. That’s going to be a big challenge for Aaron Glenn’s defense, which has been—at best—inconsistent all year.

But the Lions have a pretty potent offense of their own. Jared Goff and the rest of the Lions attack has posted the fifth most point in football, and they can beat their opponents in several different ways.

Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET on NBC. But you all can start the conversation well before that. This is our live discussion thread for pregame and the entire first half. When the game turns over to halftime, be sure to go back to the homepage and look for the second half open thread, where the conversation will continue.

Y’all. This season has been a pleasure. Let’s hope this isn’t the last First Half Open Thread of the playoffs. See you on the other side.
