Discussion: Besides the Lions, which Week 18 game will you be watching the closest?

With the Lions already locked in to either the two or three seed in the NFC, which other Week 18 game will you be watching closely?

NFL: Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

While there may not be all that much on the line for the Detroit Lions in Week 18, there is plenty to watch for around the rest of the league—particularly as it pertains to the NFC playoffs.

As for the Lions, they are pretty much stuck at the three seed—unless the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles both fall flat on their faces in Week 18. Outside of those, there are still plenty of intriguing matchups. Our own Jeremy Reisman and Ryan Mathews took the time to breakdown Week 18 in totality, and how each result can affect the Lions’ playoff path.

Today’s Question of the Day is:

Besides the Lions, which Week 18 game will you be watching the closest?

My Answer: It sounds crazy when you say it out loud, but I may be watching the tilt between the backups of both the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams the closest.

Despite a lot of starters resting, this game still has serious playoff implications—both for the conference as a whole, and for the Lions. And depending on how things shake out, this game could alter both the Lions’ Wild Card and Divisional round matchups.
