The Detroit Lions have declared their inactives ahead of the Week 4 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks on “Monday Night Football.”

Branch was added to the injury report on Sunday morning with an illness and was listed as doubtful. Like most players listed with a doubtful designation, Branch has unsurprisingly been ruled inactive for this game. The Lions will likely turn to Brandon Joseph to fill in at the starting safety spot opposite Kerby Joseph, while Loren Strickland will operate as a reserve safety.

Following injuries in Week 3, the Lions did make a few transactions to their 53-man roster this week, placing Derrick Barnes, Marcus Davenport, and Ifeatu Melifonwu on injured reserve, while signing wide receivers Tim Patrick and Allen Robinson, leaving one spot open on the active roster. Additionally, the Lions elected not to elevate anyone from the practice squad, meaning Detroit’s game-day roster total sits at 52 players.

Because the Lions have eight offensive linemen active for Sunday’s game, they are eligible to expand their game-day roster from 47 to 48 players. Therefore, with 52 players on the game-day roster and 48 eligible to play, the Lions need to declare just four players inactive for today’s matchup.
